Fire Rips Through Home In Edenwald, The Bronx
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A fire was raging late Tuesday afternoon in a three-story home in the Bronx.
The all-hands fire broke out in the private residence at 740 E. 227th St., in the Edenwald section of the Bronx, Joe Biermann reported from Chopper 2.
Heavy fire was seen shooting out of the back of the residence around 5:30 p.m.

The fire started on the second floor, according to the FDNY.
The fire department reported problems with frozen hydrants upon arriving, and had to bring in hose lines from surrounding blocks, Biermann reported.
Four families were forced from their homes and out into the frigid cold, only escaping with the clothes on their backs, 1010 WINS' Derricke Dennis reported.
"Right now, they're in need of blankets and shoes," said Maryalice Blackmore, with the Red Cross.
The temperature at the time the fire began was just 27 degrees.
Tenant Keshawn Nelson said he thinks it was electrical.
"All I heard was sparks and then everyone was screaming fire, and everybody started moving out of the house," he said.
About 15 residents, including both adults and children, scrambled to get out of the building. Some tried to take TVs and other valuables but ultimately were forced to leave everything behind for safety.
No injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
