NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)-- The New York City Fire Department said four young kittens were rescued after a 2-alarm fire broke out in the Bronx on Sunday.
"It was smoky in the apartment, and I heard noise coming from the bay of the floorboards. It was the kittens, they were crying," firefighter Vincent Martinelli of Ladder 31 said, according to a Facebook post from FDNY.
He said he came across one before realizing there were others.
"They are so young. I'm glad we were able to get them out of there," he said.
