The smell of smoke was still strong when WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall walked into Jackie's Salon on Wednesday morning. Part of the ceiling was gone from the fire.
A bar, the Artful Dodger, and a music store were also damaged in the blaze which firefighters believe began in the bar around 2:30 a.m.
"At least nobody was hurt and hopefully we'll be open for business in a couple of days," said Al Ronick, owner of Jackie's Salon.
Not much is left of the inside of the bar where workers removed what was left of the glass windows and boarded up the front of the business.
The bar just opened for business a few weeks ago.
