Car Slams Into Building, Sparks Fire In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A building in Brooklyn was set ablaze after a car slammed into it Saturday morning.
Mark told 1010 WINS' Roger Stern he was fast asleep at 3:45 a.m. when a white Pontiac struck his building at the corner of Throop and Dekalb avenues in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
"I have a patio back there and I was on my patio and then I noticed the smoke, and then I had to get my roommate up, corral my cat and get the hell out," he said.

Deputy Fire Chief Russell Riggen said the fire spread quickly from the car to the Chinese restaurant on the ground floor and then to the apartments above.
"We had a total of 15 occupants that were evacuated out of the building and two that were in the car," he said.
Firefighters battled the flames for more than an hour before getting the fire under control, CBS2 reported.
The driver was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Stern reported.
There is no word yet on what caused the driver to lose control.
