Finally, Postseason In New York For Ex-Met Francoeur
NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) -- When Jeff Francoeur was traded from the Atlanta Braves to the New York Mets in 2009, the outfielder dreamed of postseason baseball in New York.
The opportunity has arrived - with the Texas Rangers.
"It's a dream come true," said outfielder Jeff Francoeur, who was acquired in a trade from the New York Mets on Aug. 31.
"I always wanted to know what it would be like to play in New York in October," Francoeur added. "I wished it was with the Mets at first, but now I'll be up there playing the Yankees."
Francoeur will finally get his wish during Game 3 of the ALCS, when he will take in the October atmosphere from the Yankee Stadium visitor's dugout.
What will he be looking forward to most?
"The best part is I get to stay in my place next week and go to my favorite restaurant," Francoeur said.
