Feds Seize $56,000 In Heroin At JFK Airport
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A "garment sample" shipment that arrived at Kennedy Airport earlier this week contained a lot more than just clothes.
Federal officials said they seized over three pounds of heroin estimated with a street value of almost $56,000.
The shipment arrived Tuesday from Ghaziabad, India and was destined for Detroit, Michigan.
Wooden hangers found in the shipment were examined and a white powdery substance found in them tested positive for heroin, officials said.
