Feds Reach Out To Retailers Ahead Of Black Friday

That was the year a seasonal worker in Valley Stream, Long Island was trampled to death as customers rushed into the store to get sale items.
Now OSHA, the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration, has sent out letters to the chief executives of 14 major retailers encouraging them to take all the necessary steps possible to keep everyone safe on that busy shopping day.
OSHA sent the letters to Macy's, Toys 'R' Us, Target, Sears, and Wal-Mart among others.
At the Valley Stream Wal-Mart last Black Friday, things were very different as security officers lined shoppers up outside and took small groups into the store to shop.
