Fearless Girl Statue Finds Permanent Home Outside NYSE
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The "Fearless Girl" statue was unveiled at her new, permanent home Monday.
The bronze sculpture was removed from its spot opposite Wall Street's "Charging Bull" last month and reinstalled three a few blocks away from the New York Stock Exchange.

And as CBS2's Aundrea Cline-Thomas found out Monday, it was a little girl sparked who sparked the changes at the new location.
The mother of a 6-year-old confined to a wheelchair made sure the Fearless Girl's new location is more accessible to everyone. Since 2017, the 4-foot tall bronze statue has been a draw for tourists, as it stands for women's empowerment, especially in corporate America.
"I'm so excited for this moment. We've waited 10 months for this," Dawn Oates said.
Harper Oates joined droves of people last year wanting to take a picture with the statue, but she could not get her wheelchair onto the platform. It was a concern her mother took up, and raised awareness about, prompting changes at the new Wall Street location.
"The statue has come to represent a multitude of meanings for many, many different people and we think that disability should be a part of that," Dawn Oates said.
Dawn Oates is on a crusade to make more spaces accessible to those with disabilities. Through her non-profit named "The Play Brigade," teams ran 250 miles from Boston to the stock exchange to bring attention to the movement.

The statue was first installed on the eve of International Women's Day in March 2017 and quickly became a tourist attraction.
It was commissioned by State Street Global Advisors to call on companies to put more women on their boards.
