FDNY Investigates Fire At Bronx Bakery
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- Five people were injured and one seriously when an oven exploded at in the Bronx, sparking a fire.
The incident happened at Champion Bakery on White Plains Road. Part of the front of the building was blown off, scattering debris onto the sidewalk.
"It was boom, place went black and the fire, and quickly it was over just like that," one worker recounted. "The roof of the front of the building was blown a part at the top. There was just so much damage from that one explosion, I was just blown away."
The explosion happened just before 10 a.m. Monday.
Firefighters were investigating the cause of the blast.
