FBI Seeks '7-Second Bandit' In Bensonhurst Bank Heist
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Old habits apparently die hard.
The FBI believes 43-year-old Jack Mannino -- the so-called "Seven Second Bandit" -- is back in business.
Mannino was released from federal prison last July after serving more than 10 years for a series of bank robberies in Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island during a five-month spree in 1999.
"It looks like he's back at it," FBI spokesman Peter Donald told 1010 WINS.
The FBI believes Mannino and an accomplice robbed a Capitol One Bank at 7120 New Utrecht in Bensonhurst last Thursday at 6 p.m.
The pair brandished a weapon and took the bank by force, the FBI said, and took off with a "significant" amount of money.
A FBI spokesman said the robbery took less than two minutes.
Mannino was last seen wearing black wind pants, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and a dark leather jacket.
The FBI describes the second suspect as a balding white man with glasses in his 40s, standing about 5-feet-6-inches and 5-feet-7-inches, and weighing 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt, and a green or beige jacket.
The FBI said there is a significant reward for a tip that breaks the case.
