FBI: NYC Bank Robbery Suspect Sam Chatman Arrested In Indiana
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A fugitive who was wanted by the FBI for allegedly robbing four banks in New York City has been arrested in Indiana.
Officials say Sam Chatman was arrested Friday afternoon around 3:20 p.m. at a bus terminal in Terre Haute, Indiana after getting off a Greyhound bus.
Chatman is accused of hitting at least four banks since June. FBI agents say he held up two Chase branches on Thursday, one in Manhattan and one in the Bronx.
He allegedly waved a gun in the second robbery and was caught on surveillance video. Police say he left behind a threatening note in a recent heist, saying he is willing to shoot anyone.
The FBI says he was arrested by FBI agents and the Indiana State Police without incident.
