FBI Names Diego Rodriguez As Next Head Of New York Office
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- FBI Director James Comey announced the agency's new assistant director in charge of its New York field office on Tuesday.
Diego G. Rodriguez will now succeed George Venizelos, who is retiring.
Before joining the FBI, Rodriguez graduated from St. John's University and worked as a teacher in New York City.
He began his career with the FBI 1990 at the New York field office and became the special agent in charge in 2010.
During that time Rodriguez oversaw investigations of public corruption arrests, gang roundups, financial crime and insider trading.
Rodriguez also served at FBI headquarters, where he was responsible for the development of intelligence groups in 56 field offices.
He had served as special agent in charge of the Dallas field office since 2012.
