FBI Issues Alert Over Barbie 'Video Girl' Doll
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The FBI has issued a warning to law enforcement agencies over a new Barbie doll saying it could be used as a dangerous tool for pedophiles.
The agency put out a "cyber crime alert" regarding the Barbie Video Girl, which features a built-in camera above the doll's chest and a small screen on its back, where children can view videos they have recorded.
The alert told law enforcement agencies to "be aware of unconventional avenues for possible production and possession of child pornography, such as the Barbie Video Girl."
WCBS 880's Sophia Hall spoke with parents on Long Island with their reactions to the concern.

One man told Hall he thought the warning was ridiculous and bought the doll for his daughter as a Christmas present.
Others, however, expressed more caution.
"You can't be too careful...there are a lot of bad things out there," one mother said.
FBI officials said the alert was meant only for law enforcement and supposed to be an aid for evidence gathering.
