FBI: Confessed Serial Killer Might Be Behind Hackensack Woman's Disappearance
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Authorities believe a confessed serial killer might have been responsible for the disappearance of a Hackensack woman in 2009.
As WCBS 880's Levon Putney reported, Israel Keyes was arrested in Alaska in March 2012 and admitted to investigators that he kidnapped and murdered victims across the country beginning in 2001. According to authorities, Keyes said that on April 9, 2009, he abducted a woman from a state on the East Coast, transported her over multiple state lines into New York, murdered her and buried her upstate near the Tupper Lake area.
Police believe that victim could be Debra Feldman of Hackensack.

Keyes, however, committed suicide while in custody in December, leaving investigators in the Feldman case with few details to go on.

"Another reason that makes it extremely difficult (is it's been) almost 10 years that he was involved in this criminal spree he was on," said Special Agent Barbara Woodruff in the FBI's Newark office.
The FBI is asking anyone who may have known Feldman and have information about her activities before her disapperance to call 800- CALL-FBI as investigators try to determine what happened to Feldman, who was living apart from her husband at the time of her disappearance.
