Police: Woman Fatally Stabbed Father Of Her Children In Staten Island Apartment
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Staten Island woman is accused of fatally stabbing the father of two of her three children.
Officers who responded to a 911 call at an apartment in the Todt Hill Houses on Westwood Avenue around 12:45 a.m. Saturday discovered the victim with a stab wound in his chest, police said.
The victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Police identified him as 31-year-old Ruben Jimenez.
Christina Quinones, 31, was arrested later Saturday on charges of murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
The exact details of what led up to the incident are unclear, but sources told CBS2 there was a domestic dispute before the alleged stabbing occurred.
Sources said Quinones had been physically abused by Jimenez, who was arrested last October for allegedly trying to strangle her, 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria reported.
Police said Quinones and the Jimenez had two children together, ages 10 and 4. Quinones also has a 14-year-old from another relationship. Police said the children were in the apartment during the stabbing.
