3 Arrested In Connection With Deadly Shooting Near 2 Schools In The Bronx
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Three people have been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that took place just steps from two schools in the Bronx.
Gunfire erupted in the courtyard of the Pelham Parkway Houses public housing development in Allerton around 3 p.m. Thursday.
According to investigators, the shooting stemmed from an argument between one of the suspects and his ex-girlfriend, CBS2 reported.
An innocent bystander, 20-year-old Kimberly Velasquez, was shot and killed, CBS2 reported.
The shooting occurred between Columbus High School and P.S. 89, and many parents use the pathway through the housing project to get between the two schools, CBS2's Lou Young reported.
