FASTRACK Work Begins Monday On A,C,E Subway Lines
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The MTA's FASTRACK program is coming to the Eighth Avenue subway lines.
Starting Monday, service will be suspended between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. on the A, C and E lines. There will be no trains between Columbus Circle and the Jay Street-MetroTech in Brooklyn and the World Trade Center station in both directions.
The MTA has said that this program allows maintenance crews to accomplish more work in less time. Crews are able to do about two months worth of track work in four nights, according to the MTA.
Repairs are expected to wrap up Friday morning.
