'FASTRACK' Shutdown Coming To A,C,E Lines Next Week
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An overnight shutdown of three major subway lines is coming next week.
Beginning Monday, the A, C and E lines will shut down between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The lines will be closed in both directions between 59th Street-Columbus Circle and Jay Street-Metrotech in Brooklyn.
The lines will be closed for four consecutive nights for maintenance.
Crews will repair platforms, scrape peeling paint, install new lighting, clean tracks, repair defects and conduct critical inspections and repairs of signals and switches.
Officials said the overnight weekday work helps maintenance crews accomplish two months worth of work in less time.
