Fast-Moving Fire Destroyed Home Next To Former Gucci Estate In Northern Westchester
YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - A fire broke out Friday and destroyed a building next to the former estate of Paolo Gucci, a member of the luxury fashion and leather brand.
Police and firefighters responded around 6 a.m. to 1230 Baptist Church Road, a large unoccupied home next to an 11-acre estate set back in a wooded area.
The residents of the home were living elsewhere when the fire destroyed the building.
About 50 firefighters were on the scene to battle the fire. There were no reported injuries.
Paolo Gucci, who once lived at the neighboring estate, split from the family in the early 1990s and died in 1995.
