Family Of NJ Murder Victim Offering $25,000 Reward
PALISADES PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- The family of a New Jersey woman who was killed and her home set on fire is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
Dolores Alliotts, 69, was murdered in April 2010. She was found stabbed to death inside her Palisades Park home that had been set on fire in an attempt to cover up the crime, prosecutors said.
Investigators believe the killer may have been a young adult who had previous interactions with Alliotts, who lived alone.
Prosecutors said the suspect could have posed as a deliveryman, maintenance worker, landscaper or a real estate agent and may have interacted with other women the same age Alliotts so as not to appear threatening.
In addition, prosecutors said the suspect may have tried to get into her home in the past under false pretenses.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office has set up a page on its website with additional details about the investigation that also includes a way for the public to submit tips.
