Famed Radio Host Delilah Publishes New Book, 'Arms Full Of Love'
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- You may not know what she looks like, but you've probably heard her voice.
Delilah, America's top radio show host, is the author of a new book called "Arms Full of Love."
The incredibly famous host and her show, 'Delilah' broadcasts out of about 220 stations in America, with 8 million listeners a night. The mother of 13 children, she said compassion is her secret to success.
"That is the secret: My listeners and the relationship we have," Delilah said. "A lot of it is my listener stories that we incorporated. My listeners know when I'm on the air that I'm being real."
She admits the road to success was a long one. And according to her, it started when she was very young.
"I was a girl scout, and or troop went to the local radio station, and I was memorized," she said. "I asked them if I could bring home the teletype. Other people had posters of Fonzie or his girlfriend or Mark Spitz on the wall, and I had teletype paper on my wall."
Her most requested song is Wind Beneath My Wings, she said. "By far."
