Famed NYC Street Fair Extends Into The Night With Outdoor, Evening Food Market

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Do you enjoy food markets like Madison Square Eats and Smorgasburg?
The folks behind the Hester Street Fair are bringing multiple food vendors together for a weekly evening street fair, entitled Hester Nights.
Hester Nights will be held Thursdays from 4-9 p.m. at the Eventi Hotel Courtyard.
Vendors so far include Pies 'n Thighs (who we loved at the Columbus Circle Holiday Market), Purple Yam, La Sonrisa and Melt Bakery. Also dishing out goods will be Luke's Lobster and Taiwanese food truck Bian Dang.
As far as your best bets for eats at the festival, we're big fans of the fried chicken from Bian Dang - the dish features crispy skin flavored with Chinese 5-spice powder. This gives it a really nice flavor, and infuses the chicken underneath as well. It's moist, tender and delicious.

Another Hester vendor with flavorful fried chicken is Pies 'n Thighs. The bird is cooked with spicy sauce and lemon butter, and on a flaky, buttery biscuit.

Meanwhile, Melt Bakery made our radar as one of the High Line area highlights. The sweet shop is known for their ice cream sandwiches.

While originally scheduled to kick off last Thursday, the event was postponed due to rain. Hester Nights will debut on Thursday, May 31 and will run every Thursday through October 25th.
The event space runs between 29th & 30th St just west of 6th Ave.
