This fall proves to be just as exciting as past seasons, with huge names gracing the Great White Way, and unknowns ready to impress audiences. What's in store for 2015? Tickets go on sale in October and showtimes have yet to be released, but be sure to mark your calendar for a show with Broadway-caliber performances at a fraction of the cost. The 2014 presentation of "In The Heights" received critical acclaim, with select cast-members appearing in the first annual Shubert Foundation's High School Theater Festival as one of five outstanding high school theater productions. This December the school presents Beauty and the Beast; cast with some of the best young talent New York City has to offer. The school's productions are so popular, it draws attendees from the entire Tri-State Area.

Simply stated, there are three obvious reasons to see the revival of "The Color Purple." The first is American Idol alumnus and Golden Globe, Grammy and Academy Award-winning star Jennifer Hudson plays Shug Avery in the production. Secondly, London theater phenomenon, Cynthia Erivo reprises her role as Celie for the Broadway stage from across the Pond. And Orange is the New Black's Danielle Brooks takes on the role of Sofia. Previews begin Nov. 10, with opening night scheduled for Dec. 10. Tickets are on sale now.

Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o makes her New York stage debut in the premiere of The Public's "Eclipsed." From Sept. 29 thru Nov. 8, the stunning 32-year-old actress of 12 Years a Slave plays "The Girl" in Danai Gurira's drama, which is both "heartbreaking and life-affirming." Gurira is a playwright/actress who co-authored "In The Continuum" and has a recurring role in AMC's "The Walking Dead" as Michonne. Set amid the "chaos of the Liberian Civil War," "Eclipsed" explores the strength of women in a "hostile world of horrors."

"Sylvia" previews, written by A. R. Gurney, begin Oct. 2. The revival of Gurney's 1995 comedy stars two-time Tony winner Matthew Broderick, along with Julie White, Robert Sella and Annaleigh Ashford. The newly adopted "Sylvia" forms a wedge between a New York City husband and wife. The adorable puppy forces the pair to examine their own relationship, as Matthew Broderick's character juggles between his affections toward his wife and man's best friend.

The new adaptation of "Thérèse Raquin" stars Keira Knightley in the title role. Thérèse has acquiesced to a loveless marriage and an overbearing mother-in-law until Laurent, a childhood friend, awakens an uncontrollable passion within. The drama also stars Gabriel Ebert, Judith Light and Matt Ryan. Previews begin Oct. 1. Tickets are on sale through Jan. 3, 2016.
