They take on the champions from Vermont in Bristol, Connecticut at 8 p.m. Friday.
What makes the Fairfield American team so darn good?
Even the coaches sometimes are left scratching their heads, according to Larry Klein, who himself has coached the kids.
This is a team of 12-year-olds, the first to win three straight state titles.
Klein said they hope to emerge from the playoffs in Bristol as the New England champions.
"I think this team has everything that it takes to keep moving on. It's just they're 12-year-old kids and they just have to be able to do what they know how to do," he told WCBS 880 Connecticut Bureau Chief Fran Schneidau Fran Schneidau.
Klein said this is a team which has lost only one game this season.
