Ex-Overseers Of NYRA Want Internal Report Released
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A court-ordered monitor that once oversaw the New York Racing Association claims in a court filing that the thoroughbred track operator is suppressing a 2010 corruption report given to its board members.
The law firm Getnick & Getnick wants the internal report released now as Gov. Andrew Cuomo is taking over the NYRA board amid its latest management scandal.
The firm said NYRA fired it shortly after the internal corruption report was provided to board members.
Under a temporary board restructuring announced by NYRA and Cuomo this week, NYRA could retain some of its board members who may have received the 2010 report and who may not have acted on it.
There was no immediate comment Friday from NYRA.
NYRA operates the Aqueduct, Saratoga and Belmont tracks.
