Ex-Jets WR Wayne Chrebet Accused Of Labor Violations At L.I. Restaurant
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Former Jets player Wayne Chrebet has been accused of labor violations at his Long Island restaurant.
The U.S. Department of Labor said Wednesday that a settlement is in the works.
The civil complaint alleges that Chrebet paid less than minimum wage and failed to pay overtime at his Social Sports Kitchen in Uniondale, N.Y.
A lawyer for Chrebet did not immediately return a call seeking comment. The complaint was filed Friday in federal court in Central Islip.
Chrebet played 11 seasons as a wide receiver for the Jets from 1995 to 2005.
Undrafted out of Hofstra, the Jets fan favorite retired with 580 receptions for 7,365 yards and 41 touchdowns.
