Ex-Gov. David Paterson Joining NYU Teaching Staff
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Former New York Gov. David Paterson is taking a page out of Eliot Spitzer's book. New York University says former Paterson is joining its teaching staff.
NYU spokesman John Beckman says Paterson will guest lecture and take part in conferences and events at the school this semester. He says Paterson will work to develop courses he'll teach during the next school year.
Paterson spoke of his plans Thursday in a radio interview with WOR's John Gambling. Paterson also told Gambling he's been doing work for the National Federation of the Blind.
Paterson became New York's first black governor after taking over for Spitzer who resigned in March 2008. Paterson faced several scandals and ended a bid for election.
He says "things are working out well'' now saying he wakes up in the morning and doesn't "have to wonder what went wrong that is going to get blamed on'' him.
Former Gov. Eliot Spitzer also took up a teaching job after resigning from his post following a prostitution scandal. He taught a political science class called "Law and Public Policy" at City College.
