Eric LeGrand Shares Inspirational Story In New Book
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Eric LeGrand visited the Couch to talk about his new book, Believe: The Victorious Story of Eric LeGrand.
LeGrand, who was left paralyzed following a tackle against Army in 2010, has made a very successful post-football life for himself despite his tragic injury. The Avenel, N.J., native is on schedule to earn his degree this fall, and has garnered some experience as an analyst on the Rutgers' radio network.
He's been enduring what he called "grueling hours of therapy" while also scheduling in time for classes. He says the long days are worth it, however, as he's been beating the odds since his diagnosis. In fact, when he was first injured, he was told he would never breathe on his own again.
"I've been able to prove a lot of doctors wrong," he said. "It's been a blessing, honestly."
