Eli Manning On WFAN: 'We Didn't Make Our Breaks' Vs. Eagles
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Giants squandered too many opportunities in Monday night's 27-7 loss at Philadelphia, quarterback Eli Manning said Tuesday.
Manning tossed two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown, as the Eagles moved into first place in the NFC East. Both teams are 3-3, but the Eagles currently own the head-to-head tiebreaker.
"They made some plays, and we didn't make enough," Manning told WFAN's Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts. "And so we had some opportunities. We had some great opportunities. Defense got us some turnovers. We had the ball in good field position a number of times, and it was just one of those nights where we didn't make our breaks. And when we had some opportunities, we didn't take advantage of them, and Philadelphia did."
Manning said that on the pick-six to Nolan Carroll Jr., he made a bad read and did not see wide receiver Rueben Randle slip at the line of scrimmage.
The Giants will face the Cowboys (2-3) on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
"Huge game, in the division again, chance to play at home," Manning said. " ... We've got to fix some of the things that we made mistakes on and go find a win."
