Eli Manning Explains His Super Bowl Face
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Eli Manning became the subject of mocking tweets and Internet memes during and after Super Bowl 50, when the rest of his family was caught on camera jubilantly celebrating in a Levi's Stadium box while he appeared glum.
The moment came just after the Denver Broncos, quarterbacked by Eli's older brother, Peyton, scored a touchdown in the final minutes to take a 22-10 lead, seemingly putting the game out of reach.
TMZ caught up to the Giants quarterback and asked him about his reaction -- or lack thereof.
"I was just focused on whether he'd go for two, and the defense had to step up and make some stops," Eli said.
The Broncos successfully went for the two-point conversion and beat the Carolina Panthers 24-10.
When asked if he thought the memes involving him were funny, Eli told TMZ, "Yeah, it's all good stuff."
