Elected Officials Call For Aid For Southern State Parkway Crash Victims' Family
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and other community leaders gathered Friday to call for support for the relatives of five people killed last weekend in a fiery crash on Long Island.
As 1010 WINS' Al Jones reported, Viola Lebrun has been struggling for the past week with the aftermath of a fiery crash on the Southern State Parkway, which left five members of her family dead.

"These five people – they were my rock. I don't know how I'll be able to move on," she said.
Her sister -- Myriam Lebrun, 37, of East Flatbush, Brooklyn -- was driving through North Babylon last Saturday as she returned from a family gathering in Suffolk County. Her Honda Accord veered off the roadway, smashed into a tree and burst into flames, killing her, police said.
Also killed were her mother, Yolande Moise, and Lebrun's children -- 14-year-old Marquis Jeanty, 9-year-old Marcel Jeanty and 8-year-old Kayla Jeanty.
"This is horrible. One person is already too much -- five members of the same family," said City Councilman Mathieu Eugene (D-40th.)
Eugene called on New Yorkers to chip in and help pay for the funerals of the five family members who died in the crash.
