Elderly Man's Legs Trapped In Elevator In Housing Authority Building
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - An elderly man is hospitalized in critical condition after police say his legs got caught in the doors of an elevator in his New York City Housing Authority apartment building.
The 87-year-old's legs got stuck around 5:30 Sunday evening at the President Woodrow Wilson Houses on East 105th Street between First Avenue and the FDR Drive.
The man suffered a fractured leg in the incident and was taken to Harlem Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
Police are investigating what caused the incident.
The Wilson Houses are comprised of three 20-story buildings with 398 apartments, according to NYCHA.
