Elderly Man Falls Through Gap At Great Neck LIRR Station
GREAT NECK, NY (WCBS 880) - Commuters say they're concerned about the wide gap between the train and platform at the Great Neck Long Island Rail Road station. A 92-year-old man fell into the gap last night.
Rider Daria says it's a wide one.
"Like, when I go over, I, like, jump over," she says.
WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs measured a gap of 8 to 10 inches wide.

The elderly man who fell through Sunday night is hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
This latest incident occurred after the railroad spent millions of dollars trying to reduce the gap problem at numerous stations following dozens of injuries, including one fatality.
