Elaine Kaufman's Personal Collection Goes To Auction
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Before it shut down in May, Elaine's used to be the place to see and be seen. Maybe you couldn't sit at table number one at the famed restaurant in it's heyday, but now you can. That table and four chairs are among the over 200 items from the Upper East Side watering hole that will hit the auction block next month.

Doyle New York will hold the auction on Tuesday, September 20 at 2 p.m., which will include artwork, books, memorabilia, furniture, decorations, fashion and accessories from New York City restaurateur Elaine Kaufman's personal collection.
Some highlights include a signed Andy Warhol lithograph, books autographed by Katherine Hepburn and Truman Capote, and a George Steinbrenner-signed baseball.
A public viewing for the items will be held from Saturday, September 17 through Monday, September 19 at Doyle New York, located at 175 East 87th Street.
