East Hampton Hikes Parking Fines

EAST HAMPTON, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- The Hamptons are expensive, and that includes if you park illegally.

In the Village of East Hampton, the Board approved hiking the parking fines in beach lots.

WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reports

Violators will have to pay $150. That's $25 more than last year's fine.

In other areas of the Village, the cost of parking without a permit or paying the meter has also increased $20 to $80 per violation.

Instead of getting a ticket on your car, you could be towed.

The fines were seen as too low compared to other places in the Hamptons.
