WCBS 880's Catherine Cioffi reports
The Audubon Society's John Hannan says that eagles usually move into Westchester County in the winter since the river in that spot doesn't freeze.
"We are looking at [a] beautiful bald eagle with that white head and that white tail," Hannon told WCBS 880 reporter Catherine Cioffi.
Hannan and others from the society go there every few days to count the eagles.
In just a half an hour, he has counted more than 30.
Hannan says, "I've seen birds with blue New York bands. There's a couple of Maine birds in here."
It's an amazing sight to see.
"... and it's a a great testament to perseverance and people believing in the environment," says Hannan.
