NYPD: Man Wanted In String Of Queens Dunkin' Donuts Robberies
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is looking for a man in connection to a string of Dunkin' Donuts robberies in Queens.
On April 4, the suspect allegedly entered a Dunkin' Donuts on Hillside Avenue and 219th Street at around noon, police said. He then ordered a doughnut and demanded money from a 33-year-old employee working behind the counter. He left the store with $300.
Ten days later, a suspect entered a Dunkin' Donuts on 202nd Street and Hillside Avenue, ordered food and demanded money from an employee working behind the counter, police said. After leaving with $150, the suspect returned to the Dunkin' Donuts on 219th Street and Hillside and demanded money again -- this time, leaving empty-handed, according to police.
The NYPD describes the suspect as 20 to 25 years old, 5'10" to 5'11" and weighting around 150 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing a light-colored hoodie, dark pants, and was wearing a surgical mask on his face.
Earlier this month, several Dunkin' Donuts locations were hit in Nassau County, as part of another string of thefts.
The NYPD is asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
