They will be out there for Memorial Day weekend, and every weekend through Labor Day.
"Drink responsibly. Drive responsibly. That's our message because if they don't do that, they're going to be arrested," Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota told reporters on Wednesday.
State, county, and local authorities have teamed up and will target drivers on the island's east end who drink, as well as those who take drugs.
"We will be out in force," said Southampton Police Chief William Wilson. "We will be aggressively targeting those that are operating while under the influence."
