Driving In For The Macy's Thankgiving Day Parade? Careful Where You Park!
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - If you plan on using your car to get to the 85th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, there are some things to keep in mind before you get out.

On Thanksgiving day, alternate side and meter rules are not in effect.

But Margot Tohn at parkitnyc.com says to watch out for the dreaded no stopping, no standing, and no parking anytime signs.
At lots, rates range from $14 before 10 a.m. at 9th Avenue and West 31st Street to $50 at garages close to parade hot spots, including charges for large SUVs.
"If you park closer to 11th or 12th Avenues or anywhere on the East Side where they might not have an event rate in effect, that's where you're going to pay the least amount," she told WCBS 880 reporter Paul Murnane.
Ultimately, the weather will decide the issue of consumer demand.
Check parking company websites for coupons, but read all the fine print.
