Drivers In New York Shell Out $4 For A Gallon Of Gas
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The pain at the pump continues in New York, with gas prices reaching highs not seen since the summer of 2008.
The national average for gasoline increased for 26 straight days and New York is now the sixth state to top $4 for a gallon of regular unleaded.

The average price was $0.29 higher per gallon than it was only one month ago.
Drivers on Long Island lamented the price hikes and said they were changing their driving habits in response.

"I don't drive as much. Between the taxes and the gas, it's just getting stupid," one woman said.
"The lease is up in a few months, and we're downsizing," said one driver who's getting a different car.
Experts said expect the price of fuel to continue to rise as we enter the busy summer driving season. For some, staying off the road just isn't an option.
"It's not only the entertainment, but critical essential stuff that you may need. You just can not do it," said one truck driver who's pinching pennies to keep his tank full.
