Dozens Left Homeless Following Suspicious Yonkers Blaze
YONKERS, N.Y. (AP) -- Four people were hurt in a fire in Yonkers that left 28 people homeless.
Newsday says about 60 firefighters battled the blaze which was reported at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday on Webster Avenue and spread to five multi-family buildings.
The fire destroyed one building and heavily damaged two other buildings.
Authorities say four people suffered smoke inhalation and other minor injuries. Several pets were also killed.
No word on what caused the fire, but authorities are calling it suspicious.
