Downed Wire Repaired On Northeast Corridor
SECAUCUS, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Trains on the Northeast Corridor between New York City and Philadelphia are back on schedule.
Amtrak repaired a wire that went down Friday on one of two tracks over the Portal Bridge in New Jersey that crosses the Hackensack River between Kearny and Secaucus.
Amtrak trains were running up to 30 minutes behind schedule because there was only one track available and trains must alternate.
NJ Transit says Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line riders also faced delays in and out of New York City.
Midtown Direct trains were initially diverted to and from Hoboken.
