Trump's Victory Party Hits Capacity, Fire Marshal Won't Let Any More Supporters In
MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Donald Trump's victory party in New Hampshire was apparently the place to be Tuesday night -- even before his victory speech.
CBS News reports that the fire marshal has shut the doors sometime around 9 p.m. and did not let anyone else into Trump's primary party at the Executive Court in Manchester because it was getting too crowded.
CBS News' Major Garrett tweeted Trump supporters outside of Trump's victory party Tuesday evening.
Trump came out to speak around 10 p.m., saying he would "make America great again," and vowed to achieve his goals through muscle and business savvy.
"We are going to make America great again, but we're going to do it the old-fashioned way. We're going to beat China, Japan. We're going to beat Mexico at trade," he said.
Trump pulled away from the pack in New Hampshire after placing second in the Iowa caucus.
Trump captured about 34 percent. Ohio Gov. John Kasich is in second at 16 percent, followed by Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.
By winning New Hampshire, Donald Trump will take the lead in the race for delegates for the Republican National Convention. But it won't be much of a lead.
There are only 23 delegates at stake in New Hampshire's Republican primary, and they are awarded proportionally, based on the statewide vote. Trump will win at least nine.
