Donald Trump Dominates Rivals In Google Search, Social Media Mentions

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Love him or hate him, there's one thing you can't deny: people can't stop talking about Donald Trump.

The GOP frontrunner dominated the conversation on social media during Thursday night's Republican presidential debate Detroit, CBS News reported. Twitter exploded when Trump took a moment to defend his manhood in the first 10 minutes of the debate.

According to Google Trends, 74 percent of its search traffic was about Trump. His opponents fared far worse, with Florida Sen Marco Rubio getting 13 percent of the search traffic, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz  getting 11 percent and Ohio Gov. John Kasich getting 2 percent.

1010 WINS' John Montone stopped at the Vince Lombardi rest stop on the New Jersey Turnpike Friday morning and proved if you mention the name Trump, voters want to be heard.

"I think he's really rude, obnoxious, I don't think he's good for the country," one man said.

"He speaks his mind, he's not your regular politician. We've known in the past politicians make all sorts of promises that they never lived up to," another man said. "You don't have to like it, but he tells the truth."

"I don't think he's going to unify, I think he's going to divide and I think in today's climate that's not a good thing," another voter said.

"He's a businessman, that means the economy is gonna grow, ISIS is gonna go down and we're gonna do good," another man said.

"I can't stand him, he's very prejudiced, I wouldn't want his hand on the button," another voter said.

"I don't see him as the leader of the free world, I think he's a businessman, but he's not very diplomatic," one woman said.

"Our country's going to go to hell if Donald Trump wins," another woman said.

"I'm sick and tired of the politicians that do nothing but lie to you," one man said. "He's not a politician and he doesn't owe anybody any money, so when it comes time to vote that's who I'm voting for."

Trump leads the GOP field, winning 10 out of 15 states so far.
