Officer Shoots Dog While Police Make Death Notification In Newark
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - An Essex County Sheriff's officer shot and killed a dog during a death notification in Newark Thursday morning.
A pit bull charged members of the homicide task force while they were making the notification, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
The incident took place on South 15th Street between Clinton and Madison Avenues.
The officer fired one round, killing the dog.
