6-Year-Old Boy Attacked by Pit Bull In Queens
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 6-year-old boy was attacked and dragged to the ground by a pit bull Monday in the Springfield Gardens section of Queens, police said.
The boy's father was also injured by the dog.
As 1010 WINS' Sonia Rincon reported, the boy was carrying a McDonald's Happy Meal, which went flying when he was thrown to the ground by the dog.

"The dog had the boy by his foot," witness Sedrika Williams said.
Williams said she heard the boy screaming and crying, and saw the boy's father and the dog's owner to free the boy from its jaws.
She called police and said officers were ready to shoot the dog. However, the officers did not have to do so, as the dog's owner got the animal under control.
Still, Williams said she's terrified of the dog and has tried to avoid it.
"Owners need to be more cautious about their dogs, or they shouldn't have dogs if they're not going to be responsible for other human lives," she said.
First responders took the child and the man to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said. The man suffered injuries to his hand, while the child suffered a serious leg injury, CBS 2 reported.
The owner will not be charged, police said.
