Dobbs Ferry Latest To Join RiverWalk Plans
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) The path along the Hudson River in Dobbs Ferry will soon be a part of Westchester County's RiverWalk.
"The project is important because it addresses two of our greatest needs, economic growth and environmental preservation," said Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino.
The County and the Village have reached an agreement on a $7 million project to develop this trailway and this park.
"I look foward to coming back here with my children and my wife," said Astorino.
WCBS 880's Catherine Cioffi reports the planned RiverWalk is a 51-mile trail through the main streets of river towns to the shore line of the river. It spans 14 municipalities.

"It gives our residents a magnificent trailway to explore. They can get on and off the trail and see parts of Westchester that they may not have otherwise visited," said Astorino.

32.3 miles completed as paved and unpaved paths, promenades and sidewalks
5.5 miles in design or planning stages

Intermodal - connects directly with 13 of 14 Metro-North Hudson Line Stations and 27 Bee-Line Bus Routes including the Tappan Zee Express
75% of proposed route on publicly accessible lands including parks, road rights-of-way, and public institutions
25% of proposed route on restricted lands including Metro North right-of-way, industrial areas and private sites
