Barbara Sheehan's Fate Remains In Jury's Hands
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A woman accused of murdering her husband in Queens will soon learn her fate.
A jury is deliberating whether Barbara Sheehan, 50, was acting in self-defense when she shot her husband, retired New York Police Department Sgt. Raymond Sheehan, 11 times in their Howard Beach home on Feb. 18, 2008.

At least one of the three alternate jurors told 1010 WINS reporter Mona Rivera that she believed Sheehan was justified in shooting her husband to death.
As the three alternates -- two men and one woman -- were released from court Tuesday, the female juror told Rivera she would've voted "not guilty."

Sheehan was relieved when she heard of the alternate juror's decision and said, "I hope they all see it the same way, I really truly do. I know that I'm not guilty."
Prosecutors said Sheehan executed her husband in cold blood and was not a battered wife but was angry at the retired police sergeant's infidelity and bizarre sexual preferences.
Defense attorneys said Sheehan killed her husband in self-defense because he had threatened to kill her with his gun.
The two had been married for 17 years.
Sheehan has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder. She faces 25 years to life if convicted.
