Defense In Etan Patz Murder Trial Calls In Psychiatrist For Third Day
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The psychiatrist called in defense of Pedro Hernandez returned to the stand for a third day Friday.
The testimony of Dr. Michael First took a beating on cross examination, WCBS 880's Irene Cornell reported, and defense attorney Harvey Fishbein will now try to undo the damage.
Prosecutor Penelope Brady had gotten the psychiatrist to admit that Hernandez sounded sincere when he first told him he felt a lot of pain over killing 6-year-old Etan Patz, that he didn't tell his family for 33 years and alwasy dreaded the knock on the door.

"I knew I would pay," Hernandez told the psychiatrist.
The prosecutor was also able to make the point through First that it could have been the defendant's long-term cocaine use that caused his bizarre hallucinations.
