Defense Given Time To Review Psych Report In Killing Of S.I. Parents
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The defense has been given more time to review a psychiatric report for a man who was arrested in Israel and accused of killing his parents on Staten Island.
State Supreme Court Justice Leonard P. Rienzi granted the request Thursday.
Two state doctors determined in July that Eric Bellucci was fit to stand trial.
Arthur and Marian Bellucci were stabbed Oct. 13 in their home last year.
Authorities say Eric Bellucci fled to Israel after the killings. He was arrested at the Tel Aviv airport after trying to buy a plane ticket to Beijing.
He is due back in court on Sept. 22.
